Based in Okinawa, Chris works as a travel writer and photographer specializing in Japan. Over the last decade he has travelled from the snow capped mountains of Hokkaido to the tropical jungles of Iriomote.

He shoots with the medium format Pentax 67II system. It results in a heavy travel bag, but the huge transparencies are outstanding. He uses Fuji Provia and Velvia films for their fantastic color and exceptionally fine grain.

His writing and photographs have been used in newspapers, magazines, advertising, documentaries, and academic textbooks. His most recent assignments have been travel features on Japan for several inflight and business magazines.
