Muslim girls in their new Eid festival clothing came to a fair during the Eid ul Adha festival in a village . Mayshaghuni , Rupsha , Khulna , Bangladesh . January 01 , 2007 . Eid ul Adha is one of the two main Muslim religious festivals ( the other one being Eid ul Fitr ) celebrated by Muslims worldwide as a commemoration of Prophet Ibrahims ( Abrahams ) willingness to sacrifice his son Ismael for Allah . Muslims who can afford to do so sacrifice their best domestic animals ( usually sheep , but also camels , cows , and goats ) as a symbol of Ibrahims sacrifice . In Bangladesh it is popularly known as Kurbanir Eid or Bakra Eid . Eid ul Adha is three days long and starts on the 10th day of the month of the Islamic calendar .
