a revolt in the baitul izzat bdr training centre , in satkania , chittagong , took place yesterday . there was heavy gunfire inside the camp on 26th february , 2009 , thursday , at 9 . 30 am . the sound of gunfire spread panic in the whole area . after the gunfire , situation in the training camp came under control . bdr said that they had only opened fire after the army started firing towards them . later , the trainee bdr put off their uniforms and ran away to near by villages . satkania , chittagong , bangladesh . february 27 , 2009 . a mutiny by bangladesh rifles , bdr , soldiers broke out in their headquarter in pilkhana , in the morning of 25th february , making the area into almost a war zone . several thousand shots were fired from machine guns , killing around 60 army officers , at the bdr pilkhana headquarters and several civilians near the area . military personnel took strategic position on the roads to tackle the situation . the impact of the mutiny spread in the bdr camps throughout bangladesh . stock photo
