Easily identified by its distinctive colour pattern this crab ( Neopetrolisthes oshimai ) is commensal with a number of large sea anemone species , in this case Mertens sea anemone ( Stichodactyla mertensii ) . They can be found on the top of the host anemone but if threatened will move out of view under the tentacles on the rim . It is also possible for them to enter the mouth of the anemone with immunity . Crab to 25 mm , anemone to greater than 1 m in diameter . The crab ; E Indian Ocean to W Pacific .
