Members of the Camp Lemonier Catholic community , Marine Corps Lt Col Markus U Hartmann , staff judge advocate , and Navy Lt Santo P Cricchio , catholic chaplain , visit Aecole Boules De La Salle Catholic Primary School after delivering over 40 boxes full of crayons , pencils , glue , soccer balls and paper , Djibouti , Africa , Sep 6 , 2005 After hearing about a serious lack of school supplies , Hartmanns seven year old daughter , Olivia , along with her second grade class , raised money to pay for the school gifts " Both emotionally and spiritually , providing these gifts has been the most rewarding thing I have done , " Hartmann said Aecole students are comprised of both under privileged and homeless children who could not afford to buy the school supplies on their own " Our mission in Djibouti is winning the hearts and minds , " Cricchio said " That is what we are doing we are waging a war of peace " ( RELEASED ) ( U S Air Force photo by staff sergeant Stacy L Pearsall ) ? |
