| Another advantage of being able to deal direct with our photographers is that they are often experts in their fields and can help researchers avoid wasting time on 'wild goose chases'. Recently a researcher requested an image of a 'Yanomami hunter with a blowpipe'. One of our photographers, who has spent time living with the tribe, pointed out that the Yanomami do not use blowpipes. Another researcher needed an image of 'Lake Vostok, Antarctica'. However an Antarctic photographer has informed us that this lake is 4 kilometres below the icecap and is thus rather hard to photograph! However, if an image is possible, one of our photographers probably has it... | New Exhibition, "Salt n Ships" starts November 19th at the Williamson Art Gallery, Birkenhead, England. This joint father and son mixed media show by Gareth & Glyn Davies respectively consists of 40 images of the sea, boats and harbours from North Wales, Lancashire and Cornwall in the UK. Glyn is a leading photographer in Wales and his father is a retired Senior Lecturer in Fine-Art Printmaking at the Falmouth Schol of Art. For Glyn, much of this show was taken from the Celtic Connections touring exhibition but eight new A1 images have been specially shot and printed for this show. Many of the images will appear on the new Welsh Journeys series on BBC2 Wales on November 29th 2005 at 7.30pm, where news presenter Jamie Owen discusses Glyn's work both at the original gallery venue and on location on Anglesey.
