This is quite a landmark for us, but with the collection doubling in size year on year, we hope to reach a million images this time next year! We have also had major improvements in handling the capacity of traffic we now receive (100,000 vistors a week!) and you should find searching the database consistently faster. John-Mark Odero is a freelance photographer currently living in Ireland. His work includes travel stock photography and editorial pictures shot for both stock and local media outlets. John-Mark’s latest assignment on February 25 was coverage of the “Love Ulster” parade in Dublin, Ireland, which degenerated into a riot. Photographers Direct showcases his images documenting this historic event which shattered decades of calm in the Republic's capital. John-Mark has also added a number of sunny travel pictures of Dublin showing a different take on what is often an overcast moody city. | SPRING IS COMING in the northern hemisphere Here is one of its ambassadors: the May-bug (Melolontha melolontha). After living in the ground as a larva for a couple of years the transformation takes place in April and the May-bug appears. Its lifetime is a few weeks only and it will be gone by the end of June.
