| It has been another great year for Photographers Direct. Our online image search has doubled to more than 850,000 images, our sales have doubled and our photographer base has increased by 50%. Our latest development has been our Project Management System which makes it easy for researchers to handle large numbers of images for big projects such as textbooks, calendars and exhibitions. The first stage has been very successful and new tools will be appearing over the coming months. To try it, just submit your lists of image requests in the normal way, and our high tech system will do the rest! | Managing editor of World Religions PL, Christine Osborne recently attended ICORET the first world conference on religious tourism held in Nicosia.
Cyprus is rich in historic sites and Byzantine churches and the Cyprus Tourist Organisation plans to develop the island into a cultural bridge between Eastern and Orthodox religions. Michael Runkel just recently came back from a very successful photo shoot of the Seychelles in the Indian Ocean. In August he photographed for an american outdoor company their one week rafting trip through the Grand Canyon. Around Christmas and New Year Michael will travel for another photographic story to Ethiopia and Djibuti. In February the fairly undiscovered and untraveled North Algerian regions are on his agenda. Michael will continue shooting landscape and travel subjects around the world throughout 2007 and is available for travel assignment work. | Michael DeFreitas' penguins through a window image recently won gold in a major North American photography contest. Michael specializes in topside and underwater adventure travel images from around the globe. His images appear regularly in many of the world's top travel magazines. | www.hdrjapan.com are moving away from the 8-bit stock photo model, to what they believe is a better route towards the future. Currently the market is saturated with 8-bit JPEG images, so they will be moving into only offering Right's Managed 16-bit TIFF and HDR Image licensing through their website. They believe the future of electronic media requires the next generation of stock images to have vivid, wonderful color depth. At present they are transitioning all of the files they had available. | The Africa Image Library is the personal library of Ariadne Van Zandbergen. It provides extensive coverage of the wildlife, cultures, architecture and scenery of Africa.
