| We have had a growing demand from picture buyers to connect directly with photographers, particularly when they need to commission a shoot. With this in mind our Photographers Portfolios section and search facility has been completely redesigned to help buyers quickly narrow down a search to a particular location or speciality and browse the work of relevant photographers. The new facility has been test launched with just 300 photographers' portfolios, but we expect this to expand very quickly, and new features and tools will be added soon. The Stock Source search section is also in the process of being overhauled in a similar manner. Please try out the new Photographer Portfolio search and lets us know your thoughts or suggestions. Michael DeFreitas' maracas shot recently won "Best Cover Image" in the 2007 North American Travel Journalist Association’s awards contest. The image appeared on the cover of Interval World magazine in 2006. Michael specializes in topside and underwater adventure travel images from around the globe. His images appear regularly in many of the world's top travel magazines. Over the last year Michael has added hundreds of topside and underwater images to his 60,000+ stock library. | JAMESTOWN, 400 YEARS: Darlene Bordwell, an independent U.S. assignment and stock photographer whose work has been published in books, calendars, and magazines worldwide, is now accepting requests for photos related to the commemoration of the 1607 founding of the Jamestown settlement in Virginia. Darlene will travel to Jamestown VA in April 2007 for the 400th anniversary festivities. Among the events and sights she'll photograph are historical reenactments with costumed 'living historians,' Native American cultural events, and the ship Godspeed's journey up the James River and reenactment of its landing at Jamestown, as well as sights around Chesapeake Bay and along the Blue Ridge Parkway.
